Offering high-quality outdoor education is central to Audubon Vermont’s mission to engage people of all ages in protecting wildlife and their habitats.
Children begin to love, learn about, and care for their environment at a young age. With over 50 years of developing and teaching outdoor, nature-based programs, the Audubon Center has become a trusted and greatly valued resource for outdoor education, conservation and recreation in our community.
Our inquiry-based science programs encourage exploration, foster critical thinking, and build confidence. Audubon Vermont’s professional Teacher Naturalist staff designs programs focusing on interconnectedness, environmental awareness, and conservation action.
Choose full- or half-day programs. Self-guided options available. At this time we run programs Monday-Friday. Visit the Green Mountain Audubon Center in Huntington or invite us for outreach at your school (limited to school-based programs only, at this time). We offer programming for schools, adults and senior citizens, work place team-building, scouts, service-learning, teacher training, homeschool families, preschoolers, and camp groups. You do not have to be a formal group to schedule a field trip--get a group of friends together, we would love to have you!

With the help of the King Street Center, Audubon Vermont is working to make sure that all kids have access to the outdoors.
Monthly, seasonal programs. We integrate the outdoor classroom with rigorous academic concepts, conservation-based themes, and connection with nature.
Help secure a future for birds at risk from climate change, habitat loss and other threats. Your support will power our science, education, advocacy and on-the-ground conservation efforts.
It's always a good time to visit the Audubon Center. Trails are open to the public year-round. Visit us daily from dawn until dusk! Donations are appreciated.
Adults, preschoolers, foresters, photographers, sugarmakers and families will all find opportunities to connect with nature.
