Funny Valentine's

Week 5 February 14th and 16th

This week we celebrated Valentine’s Day! Emily and I love making sweet memories all session with your amazing kiddos. We searched for 30 white-tailed deer in the front yard for our morning activity, and as usual, were able to find all of them! The books we read this week were: Why Do Animals Sleep Through Winter? (A Just Ask Book) by Chris Arvetis, And Tango Makes Three by Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell, and In the Snow: Who’s Been Here? by Lindsay Barrett George.

On Wednesday, we began our day inside with some valentine’s themed coloring pages due to the below zero temperatures. After morning meeting and snack, it had warmed up enough to play outside! We searched for our deer before heading into the backyard for some sledding and shoveling. We started to get chilly, so back inside we went to do make some valentines for our friends and family. We enjoyed lunch in the barn before heading back outside for some playtime in the snow and sun. We filled the birdfeeders and then had thank you circle before pick up!

On Friday, we enjoyed fresh snow fall throughout the whole program! Our morning meeting leader made sure to plan for lots of playtime in the snow. We started our day by coloring some valentine’s day pictures. We then headed up to forest camp with our shovels for some playtime in the snow. We created snow treats, built sledding jumps, and shook the snow off the trees. Emily also made us a fire! We headed back to the barn for lunch before playing “What Time is it Mr. Fox?” in the backyard. We filled the bird feeders, had thank you circle, and said goodbye!
