What an incredible snow and sun filled day!
As we all arrived we started with some free play in the backyard/garden area. Some of us were working on seeing how could break off the biggest piece of a snow ice layer, while some of us went on an exciting tracking hunt! We followed tracks up into the woods and all the way to a tree. With this information, we concluded that it must be a squirrel.
This impromptu squirrel tracking led into us to an activity where we had to find 30 squirrel pictures in the yard in front of the Barn. Some of these were hiding in the snow, some were around the kiosks, and they were even found in bushes and on steps too.
After all this searching we trekked up to Forest Camp and enjoyed snack and a story around a camp fire! We all practiced eating and opening containers with our mittens on too. The fire was nice and warm, and the sun was also nice and warm too.
The day was flying by! We journeyed back to the front yard where some of us had so many laughs sledding down a little hill but picked up a lot of speed! Others shovels the front walk, raced back and forth to see who was the fastest, and played with snow kitchen supplies and made tasty snow treats.
2.5 hours seems like a lot of time, but it flies by quick! We are so excited to see what next week brings, hopefully more sunshine!
