Rolling Down

Week 28: April 30th and May 2nd

Springtime in Vermont does sure love to keep us on our toes! We never know what to expect, a snowy filled morning, or sunshine and warmth. As we started our morning we began our time together searching for 29 raccoons! With all the new spring growth we noticed that they were hidden is some familiar but forgotten spaces, like behind growing ferns and flowers!

Wednesdays weather was a little tricky, it wasn’t rainy and wet, but it was chilly, about 40 degrees colder than the day before! Luckily as the day went on the clouds broke apart and we were warmed up by the sunshine. We felt like turtles basking on a log in the pond trying to warm up our bodies using the sunshine. After snack in the backyard we journeyed to Peeper Pond! There many of us ran around in the field and looking at all the new plants that were starting to grow. Other friends we going “fishing” with sticks trying to catch anything they could. While we were at the pond we were listening to the sounds of nature around us, from the red-winged blackbirds singing, to the peepers peeping away, and the rustling of leaves on the trees. It was such an amazing morning to spend at the pond. In the afternoon after lunch, we enjoyed some free play in the backyard as we jumped off our pirate ship, played hide and seek, and also made some stick fairy houses too.

Friday was a beautiful spring day! Our morning meeting leader decided that today was that day we get muddy in our mud kitchen! We enjoyed making muffins cupcakes, cakes, and some yummy mud smoothies. While some of us got muddy others explored and watered some of the trillum that were blooming. We also got to climb trees and drive our “rocket ship”. We ended our time in the backyard playing tag, rolling down the hill, and laughing all together.
