On this wonderful fall Forest Playschool morning, Debbie and I were looking forward to exploring outside and investigating the fall world around us. Everything was a little damp from all of the rain earlier in the week, and it was a crisp fall day, which happens to be perfect weather for, salamanders.
We started our morning heading straight to Forest Camp with Debbie. Once we got there, we started our search for our slippery amphibian friends under logs, leaves, and rocks. Right away our friends started to turning over everything to find our salamander friends, and within a couple minute we had already found five!
At morning meeting, our leader wanted to stay and play at Forest Camp for a while, but also before lunch go on an adventure. I spent some time making a Forest Camp mud kitchen. We left a couple buckets last week at Forest Camp, and with all of the rain we had, the buckets were full of water, which made the mud kitchen even muddier!
It was getting chilly, which meant we needed to move our bodies to stay warm. Our morning meeting leader decided that our adventure would be to hike up to Lookout Rock. On our hike we looked at all of the leaves that have changed color and had fallen to the ground. It was a beautiful fall hike!
Before we knew it, it was lunchtime! We hiked backed down to Forest Camp to all sit together, enjoy our tasty lunches, and talk about our favorite part of the day during thank you circle.
Fridays are always filled with fun at Forest Playschool.
