Horsford's is excited to partner with Audubon Vermont on an outdoor spring outing for beginner to advanced birders and gardeners! Everyone is welcome.
Native plants provide food and shelter for birds and wildlife. To survive, birds need native plants and the insects that have co-evolved with them. Bird-friendly landscaping provides food, saves water, and fights climate change. Join Gwendolyn Causer of Audubon Vermont for a workshop at Horsford's about why native plants matter: What are the threats? What are the solutions? We’ll talk about Audubon’s Plants for Birds Native Plant database and have a conversation about the power of native plants to help grow a better world for birds.
This is also a birding event! We will use both sight and sound to witness our avian neighbors around the nursery, observing their behavior as they return to Vermont from their migration journey and prepare for the nesting season in Vermont.
Horsford's will be donating 10% of native plant sales from this day to Audubon Vermont.
Cost: FREE!
Mask policy: Please have a mask on hand. We understand some people may choose to wear a mask when outdoors and distanced due to health concerns. We ask program participants to be respectful of their choice too. Program participants should feel comfortable to ask others to physically distance.
