In the morning we worked on our tracking skills with a matching activity. Everyone had to work together to match up a track with a picture of the animal they think made that track. We took our time, and correctly matched up every photo!
We didn’t get to the brook last week, so we made it our first task this week. At the brook there wasn’t a lot of icy anymore. Some of us worked on making a dam, others explored the ice that was there, breaking it, hearing the sounds, etc. We enjoyed another stick race too.
On our way to lunch we visited Beaver Pond which wasn’t very frozen anymore. We enjoyed making a big muddy dam here too.
After lunch and a field game we went to Peeper Pond and enjoyed a relay race which taught us about the animals that leave Vermont in the winter and the animals that stay all year long. We wrapped up with some free explore time before snack time and thank you circle.
