This week our campers explored Audubon as quiet as a mouse, as slow as a slug, and as patient as a spider. We did so much creeping and crawling! We got sticky and sliming making home made slime, we slithered and snuck around Audubon, and explore the wonderful world of our crawling friends.
On Tuesday we started with reading a letter from Stanley the Spider which took us on an advanture up to Mossy Rocks and we looked for spider webs on our way up. We even made our very own spider web as a team using yarn. We wrapped up our day making pipe cleaner spiders to crawl along with during our day too.
Wednesday we recieved a letter from Sally Snail and Sammy Slug who wanted us to go down to Beaver Pond. While at Beaver Pond we found snails, slugs, leeches, turtles, frogs, pollywogs, and CATFISH! So many wonderful creepers and crawlers. We ended our day making our own slime and playing with it in the grass.
Thursday Celia the Centipede sent us a letter saying she lost her legs! We had the challenege to find all of her legs that were lost in the garden, and count to make sure we had all 101 legs! We journeyed into the woods and enjoyed a leaf litter search at Forest Camp where we ound lots of Red Efts, centipedes, and beetles! We eneded our day playing at Mossy Rocks too.
Friday a letter from Stpehen the Snake came to use with a journey to hike to Peeper Pond. During the day we played a running game where we pretended that we were cold-blooded and had to run to sunny spots to warm up. We also warmed up and got our bodies moving during a dance party! We ended the day with a spiral snake craft.
