How lucky were we to miss the rain on Wednesday! As we all arrived in the morning we started off with some free explore time. Some of us made some leaf mazes in the trails, while others worked on creating a worm hotel and learned from Sarah that while worms are great for your garden, they aren’t great for the forest.
We then moved on to our first activity which was pumpkin related. The craft didn’t go as planned, and it happened to be a great learning experience for myself and Sarah, so we will be re-doing our painted pumpkins next week, right before Halloween!

We took a vote on which game to play and the group chose Park Ranger, it’s been a few weeks since we’ve played. The theme was Halloween, of course, you could be anything Halloween related. One round Emily was a Jack-o-Lantern, others were spiders, ghosts, etc.

As always during snack and lunch we read, Who Killed Cock Robin! We are almost to the end!
Fort building was such a blast that we continued on our forts. Some of them are looking so great! We added more sticks and then many of us put a layer of leaves for insulation. Building our shelters prompted a student led game of "village". They designed this little town where beech tree leaves were money, and they had stores, and you could buy leaf tacos and burritos balls too. While this was happening Sarah and I prepared a treat. We roasted pumpkins seeds over a fire and enjoyed them as a mid-day snack.

We cannot wait to work on our mini pumpkins again next week and enjoy our final 3 weeks together.
