This week brought lots of sunshine and warmer temps, which made for some amazing days at forest playschool! This week, we found 30 barred owls in the front yard. We used our owl eyes, owl ears, and super silent owl wings to find them all! The books we read this week were: A Snowy Owl Story by Melissa Kim, The Rabbit Listened by Gori Doerrfeld, and Miles McHale, Tattletale by Christianne Jones.
On Wednesday, we began our day by enjoying snack around a fire at forest camp. We loved having the warmth from both the sunshine and the fire today. We then spent some time playing at forest camp. We made treats in the mud kitchen, climbed on the fort, and searched for the perfect stick. We then moved to the backyard for some play time, where the sunshine was even brighter! We enjoyed some playtime on our stone wall, rolled down the big hill, and drew in the snow with sticks. We headed back up to forest camp for lunch, where a woodpecker joined us on the big tree holding up our fort! We ended our day with filling the bird feeders and thank you circle!
On Friday, our morning meeting leader started our day with some creative coloring! We colored some geometric snakes and spring bunnies. We had a bit of free play time and then we were ready for lunch. After lunch, we headed into the backyard to play a few rounds of sharks and minnows. Before we knew it, it was time for thank you circle and pick up!
