We have officially entered the spookiest time of the year, October! We are so excited to enjoy this wonderful time with all of your kiddos. Emily and I weren’t huge fans of this unusually warm weather, but it did make for a glorious goodbye to summer. We searched for 32 bees hidden in the backyard this week, in honor of the ground nest of wasps we are currently avoiding. Our kiddos were the bee’s knees at finding them!
On Wednesday, our morning meeting leader had us enjoy our snack at forest camp before adventuring up to mossy rocks for the first time with this group! We had a great time climbing the rocks, playing on our favorite tree, looking at the different plants and mushrooms, and playing with some great sticks. After a fun morning at mossy rocks, we headed back down to forest camp for lunch and some stories. Once we finished up with lunch, we returned to the front yard for closing circle and some free play before pick-up.
On Friday, our morning meeting leader planned a fantastic day, especially with it being his first time! We enjoyed our snack at forest camp before beginning our play. We climbed, rode our fallen log motorcycles, baked yummy treats and delicious food in the mud kitchen, and even found a wooly bear or two. After some play at forest camp, we headed into the backyard for a few rounds of sharks and minnows. We have some of the fastest sharks in the ocean! Then we travelled back to forest camp to eat lunch and read our stories. We ended our day with thank you circle and some free play in the front yard.
