More Brook Ice Fun!

Week 10: March 16, 2022

Watching the seasons change is a really powerful experience to have at Audubon. Being able to go to the same locations week after week and notice these suttle differences is a really important and impactful skill to develop. We journeyed back to the Sherman Hollow Brook today to find that there was less ice than 2 weeks ago. We discussed why this might have been the case, and also discuss how we would act differently with the brook today. There was less ice, the ice that was there was thinner, and the water was moving quickly. We needed to stay calm near the water, but could explore it nonetheless. The ground around the brook was also slick, and some of us found a little hill to practice being an otter on!
