Extreme Earth Artists

July 11-15

This week fo camp was spent looking at the wild world of earth art! We made rock and mud sculptures, painted with water colors at the brook and river, and wrote plays. We had a blast exploring the world of nature and art this week!

Monday we painted a house design with water colors and then started to build our village. We also built nests and learned about bird nests. we played a nest game to where we were birds and we had to protect our eggs from predators. We went to the brook in the afternoon and made some rock art and explore the critters.

Tuesday we collected rocks from the river and painted them to take hom or hide around Audubon. We had a chance later in the day to go back to the river and explore the nice cool water. We also had more time to design and built our village for the week too. We learned about some nature music as well and made duck whistles to use throughout the day and week. We started to work on our plays

Wednesday we started the day making sure each shelter in our village had a kitchen. Later we had a huge cooking competition, there are 3 rounds, each found having a different style food that need to be created from nature! We cooled off at the River again in the afternoon and worked on our plays too.

Thursday we started off quickly with a big hike to the Birds of Vermont Museum. We spent time looking at all of the wood carvings and the beautiful art. We continued to work on our village too. When we got back to the clubhouse campers and camp staff wrote a song! We took a mindful moment and did some nature yoga too.

Friday! The last day of camp! We started with a color scavenger hunt trying to find every color of the rainbow in nature. We preformed our plays for the group too! In the afternoon we played a camp favorite game, LIFE AND DEATH IN THE FOREST!
