We're are officially in the last few weeks of our programs, and we are soaking up all the fun we can. We enjoyed the finnicky spring weather this week and went on lots of adventures! We spent our morning searching for 30 red foxes which, of course, our students found with ease. The books we read this week were: The Hungry Hummingbird by April Pulley Sayre, The Gift of The Tree by Alvin Tresselt and Are You a Dragonfly? by Judy Allen and Tudor Humphries.
On Wednesday, we braved the rain and headed for the tree cover at forest camp for snack. We enjoyed some free play there before starting our hike down to Peeper Pond! This area of the center has quickly become one of our favorites. We played in the field, watched all the birds flying around, and searched for some critters too. We hiked back up to eat lunch at forest camp before ending our day with more play time!
On Friday, our morning meeting leader decided to check out the sights at Beaver Pond! After snack and some free play, we began our hike down to the lower property. We arrived at Beaver Pond with plenty of time to play! We searched for critters, splashed in the water with sticks, and played in the mud. We were even lucky enough to see the beaver that has recently decided to call Beaver Pond its home! The busy beaver has already began building a dam, which has changed the landscape of Beaver Pond significantly. We are so excited to have this new friend and can’t wait to see what he does with the place! We hiked back up to the barn to enjoy lunch on the picnic tables and ended our day with some free play.
