ACTION ALERT: Support Funding for National Wildlife Refuges in Vermont

Please take a moment to urge your members of Congress and Governor Scott to support increased funding for the National Wildlife Refuge system in Vermont.

Birds are facing catastrophic declines due to a loss of habitat and climate change. Right now, we have a rare chance to leverage federal funding for the protection and expansion of essential bird habitat within the National Wildlife Refuge system—which includes both the Missisquoi and Silvio O. Conte Refuges in Vermont.

ACT NOW: Ask Senators Leahy and Sanders, Representative Welch, and Governor Phil Scott to support congressional funding for the National Wildlife Refuge System and protect critical bird habitat in Vermont and nationwide.

Investing in our National Wildlife Refuges is important for the survival of birds and other wildlife, and is also an investment in Vermont’s communities and natural resources.

With increased funding, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service could work with willing landowners to expand vital habitat for birds and other wildlife, while also supporting Vermont's outdoor recreation and tourism sectors, promoting climate resilience and carbon storage, and protecting clean water.
