Join Audubon Vermont for an exciting, guided field exploration focused on the birds that thrive in this beautiful landscape. This is a fantastic opportunity for landowners, especially, to learn how they can enhance bird habitats on their properties, both big and small.
What to Expect:
- Explore the diverse habitats around Merck Forest, including forest trails, farm areas, and forestry projects designed to improve bird habitat.
- Discover and identify birds in their natural environment—dozens of species are to be found!
- Learn about bird-friendly habitat concepts and practices that you can apply on your own lands.
- Engage with Audubon ecologists to learn more about our technical assistance services for landowners, with opportunities for personalized technical assistance for forest landowners in Vermont.
- Binoculars/Field Guides: Limited supply available- encouraged to bring your own
- Walking Terrain: Relatively even ground, up to 1.5 miles
