2017 was another record year for Vermont's breeding Bald Eagles.  The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department reports a record nesting year with 35 young fledged from 20 nesting pairs. The entire recovery area, which includes pairs in neighboring states on Lake Champlain and the Connecticut River, had a total of 31 pairs and 51 fledglings.  Audubon Vermont biologists monitored nesting eagles along the Connecticut River and followed up on reports of new nesting pairs in 2017.  For more information on Vermont's Bald Eagle recovery efforts, see http://vt.audubon.org/eagle
