A Very Summery November

Week 9 Nov 2nd and 4th

A previous week we had colored in bats as an activity, and this week we needed to find the bats we colored in the yard, they were very tricky to find! Some were hiding in trees, some were in “caves” and some were even in the bushes too!

Wednesday’s group wanted to have snack and lunch in the backyard on the stone wall. From there we went on a hike up the Hire’s trail and made a stop at Mossy rocks. We climbed up and down the rocks, climbed around trees, played games, and explored the leaf litter. We then hiked down and played at Forest Camp. We made some delicious treats and drinks in the mud kitchen and made some fun leaf piles too.

Friday felt like a beautiful summer day, which was spooky since it is the first week of November! With the sun shining all we could think about was Beaver Pond. We hiked down, had snack at Peeper Pond, and eventually made it to Beaver Pond. With the warm weather some of the critters were still out, like newts and frogs. We got to play with some cattails too, spreading their fluff around the pond which made it look like it was snowing! On our way back up to the barn Debbie spotted a garter snake! Everyone was so quiet which allowed us all to see it was we walked by.
