Week 17 Feb 22nd and 24th

The weeks are flying by and we are already halfway through February!

On Wednesday, our morning search was for Chickadees. These little birds were a bit difficult for us to find, and one even flew away for the day! After finding almost all of our Chickadees, we headed down to beaver pond for some winter exploration. We had so much fun looking across the frozen pond, playing in the stream, poking around with sticks, and of course, playing in the mud. We brought our lunches and ate in the warm sunshine by the pond before hiking back up to the barn.

On Friday, there was tons of fresh snow and it was still falling as the day started. We didn’t hide any critters this morning, but we played in the snow with shovels. We made a massive snow pile to dig out later and make a quinzhee! After piling up as much snow as we could, we headed up to forest camp where we played in the snow kitchen, made fun snow shapes, and climbed our fort.
