Pride Hikes are a collaboration between Audubon Vermont and the Pride Center of Vermont. Pride Hikes have been happening every month since June of 2018 and go beyond being "welcoming to everyone" to creating a safe, affirming space for LGBTQIA++ community members and the allies that support them.
As part of St. Albans Pride Celebration in June we are partnering with St. Albans Pride Corps to host a hike at Aldis Hill - Hard'ack Nature Trails. We will hike the Main Loop, a trail with a lookout that offers a view of the City of St. Albans and Lake Champlain. Aldis Hill is a birding hotspot with over 105 species submitted on eBird, an community science platform that studies bird populations through checklists submitted by birders. Audubon will provide binoculars for anyone who would like to bird while we walk.
All ages, allies, and families welcome! Youth under 18 years should be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Dogs must be leashed.
Trail Information: The trail system is under two miles total, with hilly sections. It is on a wide, gravel and/or grassy paths and partially on natural terrain with roots and rocks. A map of the trail is available here.
Please wear weather appropriate clothing and bring anything else you will need to feel comfortable outdoors for a little over an hour or two, such as sturdy walking shoes, insect repellent, snacks, water and sunscreen. The trail may be muddy in some spots.
