Environmental Education AmeriCorps Member
The Environmental Educator will help the team at Audubon Vermont lead programs for thousands of children and adults. Our member will grow their skills as a naturalist and teacher while they help us reach new and existing community members with engaging place- based programs at the Green Mountain Audubon Center and surrounding towns. Position is Full Time (1720 hours) and takes place both in the office and in an outdoor setting in all weather conditions.
Audubon Vermont and our supporters are building a better future for our state through conservation, youth leadership, education, community involvement, and by tapping into an active network that includes over 10,000 members, six Vermont chapters, including our newest UVM Campus Chapter, and many respected partners in communities throughout Vermont and along the Atlantic Flyway.
The Environmental Educator will:
- Teach host site environmental education programs (Forest Playschool, Forest Classroom, family programs, monthly homeschool program, school vacation camps, and more)
- Co-develop and teach summer environmental education day camps
- Create lesson plans for environmental education programs
Position begins January 13 and ends December 11, 2026.

Community Engagement Specialist AmeriCorps Member
Increase opportunities for Vermonters of all ages to engage in environmental education and conservation efforts statewide! Audubon Vermont seeks a creative individual to inspire conservation action for birds, people, and the planet through support of local chapters, educational programming, and community science initiatives. This position is Full Time (1720 hours) and is a mix of office and field service.
Audubon Vermont and our supporters are building a better future for our state through conservation, youth leadership, education, community involvement, and by tapping into an active network that includes over 10,000 members, six Vermont chapters, including our newest UVM Campus Chapter, and many respected partners in communities throughout Vermont and along the Atlantic Flyway.
The Community Engagement Specialist will:
- Teach hands-on nature-based programs at the host site and to partner organizations
- Conduct outreach to expand educational offerings to new audiences and reduce barriers to access
- Create and develop new host site education programs
- Recruit volunteers to participate in community science initiatives across Vermont
