Education Intern
The Education internship is a paid internship designed to provide a range of administrative and programmatic experiences with a focus on environmental education. The intern will work on some or all of the following programs: field trips and outreach programs, vacation camps, recurring programing, and public programs. During the internship, this position will deliver programing in-line with Audubon Vermont operations for young children and adults; Create, maintain, and update curriculum, instructional materials, and teaching spaces; Lead programs for people from diverse backgrounds and with lived experiences different from your own.
The internship is based out of Huntington at the Green Mountain Audubon Center. The intern will work about 15 hours/week for 13 weeks starting February 9, 2026 and ending May 8, 2026. This position pays $19/hour.

Youth Conservation Intern
The Youth Conservation Intern will support our Youth Conservation Leadership Program (YCLP), specifically the Audubon Youth Naturalist (AYN), Counselors-in-Training (CIT), our teen summer camp, as well as field trips, tabling, and events. The intern will co-develop and lead lesson plans for high school students in our AYN Program on bird conservation, plant and bird identification, habitat restoration, and other natural history topics at the Green Mountain Audubon Center. They will also help lead programming for middle school through college-aged audiences, help recruit and train CITs, collaborate with other interns and AmeriCorps members to host a “Tough Conversations” webinar, and help develop our new Rivers & Ridges Teen Camp. This internship is designed to provide a range of administrative and programmatic experiences with a focus on environmental education, conservation action, and supporting the next generation of conservation professionals.
The internship is based out of Huntington at the Green Mountain Audubon Center. The intern will work about 15 hours/week when (AYNs and teen camp are not in session) for 20 weeks starting February 17, 2026 and ending July 10, 2026. This position pays $19/hour.

Conservation Specialist AmeriCorps Member
Support Audubon Vermont’s conservation team by serving in priority species monitoring efforts, engaging land stewards in habitat enhancement projects, and learning how Audubon Vermont is bending the curve in bird declines. The Conservation Specialist will contribute to projects that include enhancing habitat for shrubland, grassland, and riparian birds, as well as monitoring recently recovered species in the state. This position is Three-Quarter Time (TQT) requiring a minimum of 1215 hours.
Audubon Vermont and our supporters are building a better future for our state through conservation, youth leadership, education, community involvement, and by tapping into an active network that includes over 10,000 members, six Vermont chapters, including our newest UVM Campus Chapter, and many respected partners in communities throughout Vermont and along the Atlantic Flyway.
The Conservation Specialist will:
- Assist with habitat enhancement projects including planting trees, site preparation and ongoing maintenance.
- Provide and/or assist with habitat assessments and management recommendations for land stewards with a focus on farmland and riparian areas.
- Conduct bird surveys on properties to support habitat assessments.
- Conduct monitoring of birds pre-and post-implementation of habitat enhancement projects.
- Engage community members and land managers
- Coordinate and support community scientists
- Assist with program data interpretation and compilation
Position begins March 9, 2026 and ends October 30, 2026.

Sweet Maple Sugaring Jobs – Apply Today!
Maple Sugar Maker
The Sugar Maker is a seasonal part-time position, hired in mid-February through mid-April. This position will work with Audubon staff to produce maple syrup and will ensure a safe and successful operation of the 600 tap bird-friendly maple sugaring operation at the Green Mountain Audubon Center in Huntington, Vermont. Maple Sugaring Assistants
The Maple Sugaring Assistants are seasonal part-time positions hired in mid-February and ending in mid- April. They gather the sap each time it runs from 600 trees and assist the Sugar Maker in several aspects of the maple sugaring operation and support the Audubon Center staff in the preparation and implementation of community-wide Sugar on Snow Parties.
