Chickadee Tree

Preschool Nature Camp, July 1-5

This week we channeled our inner chickadee and flapped our wings all around Audubon! We built nests in the forest and field, did lots of bird centered crafts, and explored all of the different habitats for birds around the center. We created and painted our own eggs and built a nest for them out of natural materials, colorful feathers, and pipe cleaners. We went on an egg hunt and found laminated birds throughout the arboretum.

We played lots of fun bird games, like hawks and sparrows (sharks and minnows)! We even transformed one of our CIT's into a bird to learn about birds different body parts! We got to make bird masks to transform ourselves into birds too.

We went to the brook and beaver pond to learn about what birds live here and what they like to eat! We found lots of tadpoles, newts, leaches, crawdads, fish, and more! We loved playing in the cool water, building dams, and skipping rocks!
