This week we learned how to hoot like owls and howl like coyotes! There was a lot of rain in store for us, but the rain doesn't bother owls or coyotes, they make due no matter the weather!
We learned some skills to help us out in the wild like animal tracking! We learned at their prints and the patterns in which they move. After our lesson we then mimicked the animals that we looked at. We hopped like rabbits, bounded like weasles, waddled like a black bear, and walked like a coyote.
We talked about what skills and traits animals have to help them be sneaky! After this we made racoon masks and acted like racoons in the woods!
On Wednesday we hiked to the Birds of Vermont Muesum and got to see all of the incredible bird carvings!
We enjoyed some exploring time at the Sherman Hollow Brook and tried to identify everything that we caught.
On Thursday and Friday we played Lofe and Death in the Forest! On Friday we swtiched it up by talking more about how to play differently to end up with a different result than what happened Thursday! It was interesting putting our sluething and hunting skills to the test, just like a owl and a coyote.
We built forts over the course of the entire week and then showed them off at thank you circle to our families and friends!
This was one wild week!
