Audubon is such a magical place! This week we discovered nature's most fanatstical plants and animals, from posion ivy to plantain, we learned how to tell hazard from helper! We made some magical concoctions, buily fairy houses, and made fairy nests too!
Monday was our first magical day at camp! We learned all about the fairies that inhabit Audubon and helped them build some new fairy houses. In the afternoon we leanred about the Brook Fiary and did some Brook exploration, played games, and caught some water cirtters too.
Tuesday we started our day learning that fairies need nests, just like birds, to lay their fairy eggs in. We each got a flower pot and decorated it for our fairies to build their fairy nests in. Later we went and check in on our nests to find that fairies had laid eggs in each of our nests! In the afternoon we cooled off by the brook again and enjoyed the shade.
Wednesday morning we enjoyed learning about birds and seeing them up close during the bird banding that was happening! It is so magical to see a bird so close and in someones hand. We also all got a ball of clay that we transformed into cauldron, once they dried we got to paint them too.
Thursday was a full day full of fairy magic. In our cauldrons we were gifted shimmer and made a shimmer potion from the fairies and put it on, we felt so magical. We also went on a wild edibles walk and collected materials to build our own fairy wands. We ende our day by making some yummy pizza over the fire.
Friday, the ast magical day at Audubon. We played an Audubon favorite game, LIfe and Death in the Forest, enjoyed a tea party from tea we steaped yesterdy, and wrote some magical fairy songs too. The day was so hot we spent some time at the river cooling off in the nice cold water.
