What Can We Build

Week 5: February 2, 2022

Well I got what I asked for last week, it was so much warmer! 40 degree difference! Weather is wild. The sun was out and felt so good on our faces, it was a day full of smiles.

When we arrived I had some prompts for us to journal about. We needed to draw a picture of our object, we needed to make 3 observations, and then make at least 1 prediction about what we think we will see with our object next week.

We then enjoyed some great free time where we worked on a snow fort and discussed aquariums and zoos. This was an interesting conversation that led us to discuss rehabilitation centers for animals and how it is important to keep animals in the wild and where they came from and not displace them.

We journeyed to a frozen Beaver Pond where we found so many fox tracks again! There must be a den nearby. We then noticed that with this warm weather the snow is finally amazing packing snow. Some of us had a snow ball fight and build up walls, while others were working on an arch with Ciara. We even started to build some great snow people too. A few of us found a frozen spider which we moved to a safe place off the snow.

After we fueled up with some lunch we went down to the field and build more forts and snow people. Ciara and I even got ones made of us.

Such an amazing winter day at Audubon!
