Rise VT is an organization working to bring community-based wellness opportunities to Vermonters around the state as a preventative-care initiative. Originating as a program through the Northwestern Medical Center, RiseVT has expanded to other counties and will be statewide by 2019. Now in Chittenden County, RiseVT's website says " We are here to support and inspire you to have fun, play more, eat well, and feel good! We work with individuals, employers, schools, childcare providers, and municipalities to provide opportunities to make the healthy choice the easy choice."
RiseVT's program manager for Chittenden County, Robin Katrick, reached out to Audubon Vermont to see if we would be interested in participating in the Richmond-Huntington-Bolton community. One way Audubon Vermont is participating is through the Come Alive Outside Passport. Once a week for the rest of October, there will be a secret code placed on one of our trails at the Audubon Center. Find the code, get points, win prizes! Want to participate? It's easy!
1. Get a passport from us (we will have some at our office which you can get during office hours Monday-Friday, 9-4), the Richmond Farmer's Market, or your school (passports were distributed to schools in Richmond, Huntington, and Bolton).
2. Earn points by finding secret codes around the community from trails to local events.
3. Turn in your passport for a chance to win prizes!
We will announce which trail has the code each week on Instagram and Facebook. Codes change every Friday!
