Finally Frozen

Nov 15 2022

How is it the last day of the fall session! Definitely the coldest day yet, but the sun came out here and there to help thaw us out.

In the morning we had 10 mystery bags that we had to guess what was inside by only using our sense of touch.

We wanted to play Oh Dear again today and see how different our outcome would be, and it was different. We learned that populations don’t happen the same everywhere and we can’t predict what will happen because weather, disease, ad other external factors can change our populations.

After the game, we all headed to beaver pond and worked on our fire building and team work skills. There was a challenge at play, you were to be only given 3 matches per group! One group took it even farther and said, “We only want 1 match”.  Some of our groups weren’t successful, but that is why we keep practicing!

In the afternoon we wanted to see what if there was any icy at the brook. We looked at 3 different parts of the brook and made some observations about the water level, water flow, the stream bank, and a few other things too. At instant death we didn’t see any icy at first, but then found some! It was along the bank and some icicles dripping from rocks! We also explored sound, we noticed that different items and tocks sound differently when we sent them down the waterfall area.
