Final Winter Day

March 28 2023

As we arrived in the morning today felt like the ended of winter, the sun was shining and we started to see the snow melt and ice shine as it melts. We all got to have a picture of an animal who stays active in Vermont all year long and we could only ask yes or no questions to figure out what animal we were. Some of us were a Fisher, squirrel, or even a bobcat.

After our morning meeting to plan our day and snack the sugaring team asked us for help again this week. The appreciated our help last week so much and with the warm and sunny day the buckets were over flowing again. We helped them gather over 200 gallons of sap over the course of an hour.

Even though we used up a lot of energy to help gather sap we still had some left and wanted to play in the field and soak up the sunshine.

In the afternoon we went back to Beaver Pond and saw our sliding section was still there and we wanted to slide a bit more. We also went to the Brook and with the ice melting we practiced skipping rocks and took some time to smash and throw ice.
