Fall Fires!

Oct 25 2022

Halloween time! Many of us came in all dressed up in a costume, we had an ice climber, a princess, skeleton, and even a fire fighter! At morning meeting we were greeted by a downy woodpecker that we watched for a while too.

This week we thought big! We wanted to test out fire building again. As always we discussed our fire safety rules, and then talked about the 3 things needed for fire, air, fuel, and heat. We divided into groups and began discussing what style fire we would make, a log cabin, TP, A-frame, etc. When everyone was ready we had the choice to light a match to start our fire. All groups got a fire going, and got to enjoy roasting a marshmallow!

In the afternoon we explored the woods, and we found a really camouflaged wood frog and spring peeper! We also continued on some shelters too.
