Do you like to bird? Are you bird-curious? Do you love bird song? Wonderful!

This group celebrates coming together and a love of birds. We intend to create and hold an inclusive space for cis & trans women and femme non-binary community members.  Whether you're a first time or an experienced birder, our purpose is to create a safe place to come together and share in our mutual love for nature and birds. This is an LGBTQIA++ affirming group.

Please park at our Education Barn located 255 Sherman Hollow Road Huntington, here are directions of how to get to the parking lot. We will gather by kiosk near the Education Barn.

There will be binoculars and bird guides to borrow and we will send and email about the conditions before hand. Please plan to dress appropriately for the weather, Layers are helpful!

Tickets: Registration is required for all participants. You must select tickets for each member of your party. We are shifting to a "pay as you wish" model for select programs. We have a suggested ticket fee of $10/person. Ticket purchases help support the operations of Audubon Vermont and our teaching team. If you can pay slightly more, you help a neighbor attend who needs to pay less, supporting community learning and growth.

Adjust your ticket fee by changing the default $10.00 value in the "Suggested Ticket Fee" box below.

How much should you pay? It depends! As a non-profit organization, your contribution will help our bottom line and our mission to protect birds and the places they need through education and conservation. The system defaults to $10 total (the suggested fee for 1 ticket), but you can adjust this amount all the way to $0 or any amount higher.

If it helps:

  • consider paying less if you participate in 3SquaresVT (SNAP), Medicaid, TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), or Families with Dependent Children program.
  • consider paying more if you have funds for events and outings each month, like movies, museum admission, or eating out.

You must select a ticket for all participants. If there are none available and it is marked "sold out", sorry, we are full! Call our office to find out about our waitlist and any cancellations.

All ages welcome! Youth under 18 years should be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and bring snacks and plenty of water! Service dogs welcome, but please leave your pets at home - they scare away the birds.

Why is Audubon hosting this program just for women, agender/multi-gender/non-binary and women-aligned people? Audubon Vermont is committed to providing opportunities for access to the outdoors for all in a safe and inclusive environment. We know that when we create intentional opportunities for specific groups to participate in outdoor activities, they show up. This means that we can support our entire community of conservationists and outdoor recreation enthusiasts and help more people find their place in the great outdoors. To preserve the birds, wildlife, and habitats they need to survive, we need all hands-on deck.

Trail/accessibility information: The trails we will walk on will be at a slow pace and will cover approximately 2 miles. The trails are unpaved, there are a few staircases, and our trails are of  various terrain. Depending on the group there are hills we may climb, but can stick to flatter areas based on group needs.  If you require accommodation or have questions about accessibility, please contact Audubon Vermont at 802/434-3068.
