Happy New Year, Pride Hikers! We're jumping into 2026 with a Pride Hike at the Intervale Center in Burlington. Audubon will provide binoculars and wildlife tracking guides in hopes that we see some signs of animals during our walk. Our walk will take us along the Winooski River, through an old grove of maples, and past farm fields. We will meet at Information Kiosk near the office buildings. See Intervale's Trail Map for more info.
Trail Information: The Intervale Trails are wide and flat with a natural dirt surface. We will walk about 2-2.5 miles at most.
Gear: Layer up! January in Vermont calls for smart layering to protect your body from the cold. Depending on the weather, microspikes may or may not be needed. Audubon will reach out before the event with gear recommendations when we have a better idea of what weather to expect. Please also bring yourself any water or snacks you might need to make it comfortably through the event.
All ages, allies, and families welcome! Youth under 18 years should be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Dogs must be leashed.
Pride Hikes are a collaboration between Audubon Vermont, the Pride Center of Vermont, and Outright Vermont. Pride Hikes have been happening every month since June of 2018 and go beyond being "welcoming to everyone" to creating a safe, affirming space for LGBTQIA++ community members.
