Meet us on the Visitor Center's front porch!

Join Audubon Vermont in celebrating National Moth Week with a special Caterpillar Count Community Science event on Friday, July 25th from 2:00–3:30 PM at our Green Mountain Audubon Center in Huntington.
This fun and educational afternoon is part of our ongoing work to better understand the critical relationships between caterpillars and birds, and how seasonal changes impact their life cycles. You’ll get hands-on experience collecting data as part of the Caterpillars Count! Initiative a nationwide community science project that helps scientists track caterpillar abundance and timing.
Whether you're a seasoned naturalist or new to nature exploration, this event is a great opportunity to learn more about local moth and caterpillar species, contribute to meaningful scientific research, and connect with fellow nature lovers. All ages are welcome, and no experience is necessary, just bring your curiosity.
We’ll provide tools, training, and guidance to help you participate confidently.
What to Bring:
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Bug spray and sun protection
- Refillable water bottle
- Your love of nature
Let’s celebrate the incredible diversity of moths and their caterpillar cousins while contributing to important conservation science. We hope to see you there! Learn more about Caterpillars Count.
