Join Audubon Vermont at The Main Street Landing Performing Arts Center as we welcome birder and educator Maeve Kim for an indoor presentation followed by an outdoor excursion on Burlington's Waterfront.
There are often tens of thousands of ducks and other diving birds on Lake Champlain during the winter, birds that bred far north of us and have come down to Vermont like Vermonters heading to Florida for warmer temperatures. We’ll talk about how to identify the various species as well as what the birds eat while they’re here, their life cycles, habits, breeding and migration.
After the indoor presentation we will head outdoors to spot, identify, and observe the behavior of winter waterfowl on Lake Champlain.
Bring warm layers, binoculars, and your spotting scope, if you have them. Additional binoculars and spotting scopes will be available to borrow from Audubon.
Fee: Audubon members $5; Non-members $10.
Ages: Adults and children 10+
Registration: Online with Eventbrite click here
