Join Audubon Vermont, Southeastern Vermont Audubon Society, and Windham County Conservation District for a workshop on managing fields for the benefit of native plants, birds, and other wildlife.
Fields provide critical habitat for native plants and animals in a region dominated by forest cover. The edges between field and forests and the succession of fields into forest all play a role in supporting biodiversity. Learn how best to manage small to medium sized fields not in productive use in order to support breeding birds and other pollinators while preventing the spread of invasive species.
Trained banders from Audubon Vermont will be hosting bird banding demonstrations. Learn which bird species are choosing to breed in fields! Attendees will be able to see birds up close in the hand!
This event is free but registration is required.
