Spring is the time when Vermont’s maple sugarbushes are once again alive with the bright colors and beautiful songs of migratory songbirds. Steve and Amy Wheeler, owners of Jed’s Maple Products, are active participants in the Bird-Friendly Maple Project (vt.audubon.org/maple). Join Audubon Vermont’s Steve Hagenbuch and the Wheelers as we explore their sugarbush. Learn about the intentional forest management they are undertaking with birds in mind while searching for birds such as Scarlet Tanager, Eastern Wood Pewee, Black-throated Blue Warbler, and many more. Perhaps we’ll even get a glimpse of this Barred Owl that has taken up residence in the sugarbush!! There will also be the opportunity to purchase some of their maple products, officially recognized as being produced from a Bird-friendly Maple Habitat!
