May 5th: Beaver Pond Exploration

Another great day at Forest Preschool!  Debbie and Emily were very happy when then rain held off for us and allowed us to explore and take a hike down the Beaver Pond.  Hopefully we will have some sunny days in our future! Hike down to Beaver Pond is a challenging hike, but we gears up, brought our water bottles, snacks and lunches and made our way down. We stopped to have snack on the bridge right above Beaver pond.  We were listening to all of the sounds of spring.  We heard Phoebes singing and some peepers calling too! Instead of traveling down the path, Debbie and Emily thought it would be fun to go off trail down the hill below the bridge to beaver pond! It was fun to slide down a new way none of us have ever gone before! When we got to Beaver Pond everyone was so excited!  We dropped our backpacks and ran to the waters edge.  We all knew the water safety rules and were so excited to put our boots int he water! Right away Emily found a newt and showed it around to everyone.  Those of us who were curious got to hold our newt friend.  We made sure we were very careful and hand flat hands when we held it.  We then took it back to where Emily found it so have a peaceful rest of its day! We explored so much at Beaver Pond.  We got into the water, played with the mud, built dams and so much more. It is always an amazing experience at Beaver Pond.  There is so much life and new findings every time we go there.  It is an always changing ecosystem. It was incredible! https://flic.kr/p/Urhy1N We even had some fun making some goose calls too!
