March 31st: A Snowy and Slimy Day!

I think many of us are getting cabin fever because to day at Forest Preschool we were all so silly and needed to have a dance party before we had out morning meeting.  Once everyone arrived, we cleaned up our spaces and Emily was in charge of the music and we had ourselves a freeze dance party. https://flic.kr/p/SeZRBN After our freeze dance party was over some of us started to sing Ring Around the Rosie and we all joined in for a couple rounds! After we got our sillies out we had morning meeting.  Debbie had a fun experiment she wanted to do at the very end as we were all super excited.  We couldn't wait for our day to begin.  We filled out bird feeders, had snack and were ready to rock and roll outside! Emily noticed that some of the snow was great for packing, which to Debbie only meant SNOW MAN.  With many of our preschoolers help we created a masterpiece that was a snowman.  It had a very wide body and long arms.  We tried to add hair, but it kept fall out. We loved playing and exploring in the snow today!  After we went back to the barn inside and Debbie explained out experiment(s) to us.  We first tried to make silly putty but the glue didn't work the way it was supposed to.  Debbie and Emily know now for next time. Debbie then added corn starch and water to make this liquidy solid creation called Obblick! It looks like a liquid but is hard like a solid and is slimy and messy! Great way to end our day. Forest Preschool has been such an amazing adventure for not only the preschoolers but for Debbie and Emily too!  We can't wait to see what spring has in store for us.
