Vacation Day Camps

Spend your vacation at Audubon!

Make plans for Vacation Days at Audubon!

Spend your vacation break with us, outside at Audubon! Our vacation camps invite children to explore the world around them and connect to the plants and animals that call the Green Mountains home. There are moments of magic every day at camp, whether around the bonfire, on a hike to Lookout Rock, or at the pond.

This program is suggested for students ages 5-11 (approximately grades K-5).

April 22: Awesome Amphibians
As we jump into the start of spring weather in Vermont, so do our amphibious friends! While they begin to crawl out of hibernation, we’ll spend the day learning all about some of the newtest – sorry, neatest – animals in the pond! Come prepared to be out in the muck to see firsthand some of the awesome frogs, toads, and salamanders that we have right in our backyard!
April 23: The Beauty of Birds
Look, up in the sky! It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s … no, you had it right the first time. Come visit us at the Audubon Center to learn about the amazing birds which call our trees, shrubs, and grasslands home. Be ready to discuss some of the incredible adaptations birds have to survive in the wild and be on the lookout for any flitting finches or swooping sparrows that we might see on our travels!
April 24: Warming up from Winter
Spring has sprung, and the chilly winds of winter have begun to subside. In comes sunshine and warmer days, which are a welcome break for those of us who stay in Vermont through the winter. Come learn with us here at Audubon Vermont about what happens to the weather in the springtime and how our animals behave differently in response.
April 25: Mud Mayhem
They say that April showers bring May flowers, but what they really bring is April mud. But what do the animals outside think about all the mess? Join us on Thursday to learn about what mud really is and how it helps a number of different animals throughout the year! Just don’t track your vacation day camp in the house…
April 26: Spring Symphony
The world has begun to come alive with many new sounds and colors after the quiet beauty of winter. Let’s explore some of these together! Listen for a trickling stream through a small valley, or maybe the colorful flash of a bird’s wing as it darts between the trees. Bring your listening ears and your watchful eyes to our own private spring concert!
