(Most) Trails are Open

Most of the trails at the Green Mountain Audubon Center are now open. Please observe trail closures.

Thanks to the hard work of special volunteers, Audubon Vermont staff, and Shelburne Farms staff we are happy to announce that most of the trails at the Green Mountain Audubon Center trails are open to the public!

The following trails will remain closed until further, technical tree removal can be undertaken. Please observe all trail closures.

  • The Spear Trail
  • The White Pine Trail
  • The Hires Trail
  • The Museum Trail

If you encounter a downed tree blocking a trail that has re-opened please let us know so we can remove it. Email vermont@audubon.org to let us know the location and what you find.

How you can help:

  • Make a donation to support the Green Mountain Audubon Center as we work together to repair our buildings and trails after the wind storm. Click here to donate.
  • Walk the trails and lend a hand.
    • As you walk the trails, if you see small branches please move them to the side of the trail.
    • If you find a tree blocking a trail that has re-opened please let us know so we can remove it. Email vermont@audubon.org to let us know the location and what you find.
