Volunteer Opportunities

Audubon Vermont has a number of volunteer opportunities available throughout the year. Hardworking members of the community help to keep Audubon Vermont running smoothly. Volunteers do a wide variety of work ranging from leading school groups, to trail maintenance, office administration, or helping us to make our special events a success. Volunteer opportunities change on a regular basis so please call us if you would like to know what we need your help with today!

Internship Opportunities

Audubon Vermont proudly offers a variety of environmental education and conservation internships year-round. Internships are carried out at several locations throughout the state, ranging from the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge to the foothills of the Taconic and Green Mountains! Our internships are designed to offer opportunities for people to work in the environmental field as educators and researchers. Internships are also available in the areas of Development and Public Policy. Professional Audubon staff work closely with interns to insure a challenging and rewarding experience. College students are able to fulfill academic requirements while gaining valuable work experience. To learn more about our exciting internship possibilities please contact us.

CONSERVATION EDUCATION INTERN

Interns work for a semester for college credit (during the fall or spring) with professional Teacher/Naturalists to develop outdoor teaching skills and to incorporate their knowledge of the natural history and conservation-related issues of Vermont into lesson plans and activities for young students. Interns will focus on gaining the skills necessary to lead small groups of students through our seasonally based, conservation education programs as well as gaining experience developing lesson plans for an outdoor setting. Audubon Vermont's conservation education internship is a challenging, highly rewarding experience for anyone considering a career in environmental or conservation education.
