Timber Harvesting with Birds in Mind: Rescheduled Date

March 18, 2017 - Stowe, VT

Due to the extreme cold forecast for March 11 we are going to postpone this event until Saturday, March 18

Ever wondered if timber harvesting is good for birds?
Interested in understanding how trees are harvested and taken out of the forest?

Join Audubon Vermont, the Vermont Land Trust, the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation, and the Town of Stowe on a tour of an active timber harvest to get answers to these questions and more.  Sterling Forest serves as an official demonstration site for the Foresters for the Birds project and is intentionally integrating bird habitat with timber management.  This is a unique opportunity to meet with biologists, foresters, and loggers in seeing first-hand how active forest management is good habitat management.
