Vermont Important Bird Areas Technical Report
Acknowledgements
We wish to thank the many individuals and organizations that have helped Audubon Vermont throughout this process. Special thanks goes to the Vermont Institute of Natural Science and the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department whose assistance early on was critical to the development of the IBA Program in Vermont. We are grateful to the Lintilhac Foundation, the New York Community Trust, the Sweet Water Trust, the Vermont Community Foundation, the Wharton Trust and the many private donors who helped fund the IBA Program. The IBA Program would not be where it is today without the time and effort put in by the members of the Vermont IBA Technical Committee and the first IBA Coordinator Steve Young. Thanks to Warren King and Fred Baumgarten for the foresight to establish an IBA Program in Vermont. We want to thank the science staff of the National Audubon Society, especially Dan Niven and John Cecil for their support throughout the process. Thanks also goes to Kathy Ciarimboli and the UVM Spatial Analysis Laboratory for the GIS maps within this document and Josh Canning for helping with the layout and text. And, of course, thanks to all of the individuals who took the time to organize, compile and collect information in order to submit IBA nominations and who continue to work to protect these very important places in Vermont.
